Thanks for the news. I never could get into the original. Twenty years ago I worked with a guy who was a major fan; he tried to encourage me, but it was a no-go. Not that I did not like it at all... found it moderately humorous more than anything. Maybe I was missing something and it is time to revisit.
Red Dwarf (what I've seen, which is maybe the first half) is good fun. Lots of crazy logic and upending of sci-fi tropes. How can you not love a show where the ship's computer is a working-class British geezer with a penchant for playing practical jokes?
